NSF-wide Program Assistant vacancy announcement

Program Assistants working in IOS are essential to the grant review and management process. Their role includes: 

  • Working with a variety of data systems to collate information about scientific grant proposals.
  • Assisting with the merit review process by emailing information to proposal reviewers, and facilitating panel review meetings.
  • Coordinating the logistics for meetings and conferences. 
  • Providing administrative support to staff including handling travel arrangements and scheduling. 

Program Assistants work directly with the scientific community to support the National Science Foundation’s efforts to promote and fund the best possible awards through grants, cooperative agreements, and other mechanisms. If you are customer oriented, enjoy working with a variety of data systems, are organized and detail-oriented, and have great communication skills, working as a Program Assistant is the right job for you! This announcement is for a GS 5-7 position, and it is a good match for recent graduates or administrative professionals with a few years of experience.
