The new Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG: NSF 20-1) went into effect on June 1, 2020. However, the changes outlined in this new edition for the required Current & Pending Support (C&P) and the Biographical Sketch documents will go into effect for any proposals submitted on or after October 5, 2020.

For Biographical Sketches, you will now need to choose between using either the SciENcv or NSF’s Fillable PDF platforms (see this page for more information on Biosketches and links to both platforms).

Last, NSF recognizes that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is impacting the ability of many to prepare grant proposals. Please keep in mind that core solicitations in the Directorate of Biological Sciences have no submission deadlines. Deadlines have also been extended for some NSF programs with submission deadlines, such as the CAREER program. Please see the document outlining Impact on Existing Deadline Dates, available on NSF’s coronavirus information hub, for information on which programs have extended due dates.
