IOS Submission Limits Explained

To accompany the unveiling of the New Core Program Solicitation, we would like to explain the submission process for the programs affected by the new solicitation. In a given fiscal year, an investigator could submit multiple different proposals as a PI/Co-PI. As an extreme example, they could submit one proposal to an IOS core program, AND one proposal to the Rules of Life track in any BIO Division (DEB, IOS, MCB, DBI), AND multiple proposals to EDGE, AND a proposal to a core program in each of the other BIO Divisions (DEB, MCB, DBI), AND a CAREER proposal (if eligible).

Column one lists types of proposals typically submitted to IOS. The second column shows fiscal year limits on submission. The third column shows those programs that have deadlines, and the final column has links to specific guidance for preparing proposals.
