EDGE Program Announces Its First Ten Awards!

IOS’s new program Enabling Discovery Through Genomic Tools (EDGE) has announced  its first 10 awards totaling $14 million in 2017. These projects span a variety of non-model animals and plants with the goal of developing and rapidly disseminating genomic tools for researchers to use to understand how gene function creates the functional and physical characteristics of organisms.

Previously a part of the IOS core programs solicitation, in 2018 IOS is planning to continue EDGE as a stand-alone program due to the high interest and strong response to the first call for proposals. A new EDGE solicitation is in preparation; look for it later this summer!
